Press Release – Home of the Sparrow Does Not Renew Lease on Algonquin Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Store & Donation Center

Home of the Sparrow will be closing its Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Store and Donation Center located at: 781 S. Randall Rd.  Algonquin, IL. effective October 31st.  The decision was made not to renew the lease thus closing the store. For the past seven years, the store had to overcome many obstacles such as road construction on Randall Road, lack of parking for shoppers and donors and the ease of entry to the location, and more recently COVID-19 these were all factors in the decision.

Home of the Sparrow operates six additional Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Stores and Donation Centers located in; McHenry, Woodstock, Cary, Palatine, Mundelein, Third Lake and its seventh called Community Threads Resale Store located in Arlington Heights, IL.  Donations will still be accepted at the other locations Home of the Sparrow operates.  Many great finds will be available as well!  Home of the Sparrow is grateful for the many shoppers and donors who have come to support the store and the agencies mission over the years.
