We hope everyone had a Happy Holidays! We would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! As a reminder, our Sparrow’s Nest thrift stores, Community Threads, and headquarters’ office are closed today and will open again tomorrow, January 2nd, 2020.

As we celebrate the New Year and reflect, we would like to express our utmost gratitude to all of our amazing donors, volunteers, and staff for your passion and commitment to Home of the Sparrow! With your support, we impacted the lives of over 2,900 women and children in our community, including 451 women and children in our shelter, with 65% of our resident’s children. We are proud of the fact that 97.5% of our clients successfully obtained permanent housing.

We are grateful to our donors who gave generously to support our mission. Through all monetary donations, our Holiday Gift Program and Giving Trees, shelter wish list drives, and donations to our Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Stores and Community Threads, your support was critical to our success. Many thanks to the 845 individual and group volunteers who also dedicated their time by volunteering over 53,000 hours to Home of the Sparrow!

As we enter 2020, we look forward to continuing to provide a safe shelter, affordable housing, educational programs and supportive services that help women and children through their journeys of overcoming homelessness.
