The pandemic has really impacted Home of the Sparrow. All of our thrift stores were closed for 12 weeks, and we’ve been unable to host most of our events, which has been very stressful for our agency since we count on our fundraisers to support our mission. With revenue down, many employees have been furloughed or laid off. Right now, Home of the Sparrow is doing everything possible just to sustain our daily operations and provide needed services to our community.
As COVID-19 continues to spread, the future has never felt so unpredictable. The latest news from the experts is that the Covid-19 Pandemic is going to get worse before it gets better, and is expected to be on the rise again in the Fall, along with even more social distancing requirements.
Unfortunately, due to this uncertainty, we feel it is in everyone’s best interest, health and safety to CANCEL our Celebration of Women Luncheon, Casino Night Hope Benefit, and our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner for volunteers.
However, considering we are in desperate need of funds, we have decided to STILL HOST OUR COVID RELIEF ONLINE AUCTION IN JULY 2020, OUR OKTOBERFEST GOLF OUTING ON SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2020 AND ANOTHER FUNDRAISER IN OCTOBER 2020</font color= #ff0000>.
Full details for all of these events can be viewed under the “Events” drop down menu, in our upcoming monthly newsletters, and on social media.
