Job description: Stockroom Receiving Clerk (Part-Time)
Location: Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Store – McHenry, IL
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, must work Saturdays (we are closed on Sundays).
We are seeking a dedicated, long-term team member for a permanent, part-time stockroom receiving clerk position at our Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Store in McHenry, IL.
About Us: Home of the Sparrow empowers homeless women and children with shelter, support, and resources for a brighter future. Our thrift stores fund vital programs, and every purchase supports our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
– Receive, sort, and organize donations
-Maintain a clean and safe stockroom
-Restock and assist with inventory
– Support and guide volunteers
– Provide excellent donor and customer service
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Stockroom or retail experience preferred
– Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet
– Strong organizational and communication skills
– Basic computer skills
Physical Demands:
– Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.
– Must be able to move and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds safely.
– Prolonged periods of standing and physical activity are required.
Store Hours:
– Monday–Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM
– Saturday: 10 AM – 5 PM
– Closed on Sundays
