Book Nook Installation at Home of the Sparrow’s Transitional Shelter

Members of the Woodstock, IL Kishwaukee Trail National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (KT NSDAR) installed shelving/six hundred books for two separate book nooks in the HOS Transitional Shelter for homeless women and children in McHenry County.

The installation was in support of the Illinois Secretary of State’s program “Readers are Leaders” and the national literacy efforts for the society. The Book Nook was dedicated to Joyce “Joy” Rogers Martin, who was past Regent of 21st Star Chapter, NSDAR and one of the founding members of HOS. Members photographed are Carolyn Mills, Nancy Willis, Jennifer Boyd, Pam Johnson and Linda LaLond. The KT NSDAR celebrates 60 years of service to the community. Thank you all so much for this unique project!
