Join our mission-driven team at Home of the Sparrow, where we provide hope, opportunity, and support to women and children facing homelessness. We’re hiring a compassionate, organized Intake Navigator to coordinate our Homeless Prevention Program and serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking shelter or support.

Key Responsibilities of the Intake Navigator:
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and walk-ins seeking shelter or resources
- Conduct intake screenings and assess eligibility for programs
- Provide short-term case management and rental assistance
- Attend weekly outreach events (Community Resource Days)
- Offer informed referrals and crisis support
- Maintain accurate client documentation in HMIS and internal systems
- Collaborate with internal teams and community partners
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and community events
Qualifications of the Intake Navigator:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience working with high-barrier individuals
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Bilingual and/or knowledge of McHenry County resources a plus
- Valid driver’s license required
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Frequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking

Pay: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour
