Job Title: eCommerce Associate
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: T, TH, Sa – flexible between 9:00a – 6:00p. Choose your own hours (10-15 hrs./week).
Job Purpose: The eCommerce Associate will be responsible for managing the complete internet sales process, from identifying quality, sellable merchandise to preparing, listing, and
processing items through authorized online sales platforms, such as eBay.

Key Responsibilities:
– Manage inventory and merchandise flow while ensuring timely responses to customers across eCommerce platforms.
– Research, photograph, create listings, package, and ship sold items, and provide appropriate buyer feedback.
– Maintain accurate records of all eCommerce sales using designated Excel spreadsheets.
– Utilize available tools and technology, including computers, smartphones, digital cameras, scales, and other equipment, to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of the listing process.
– Stay informed about current market trends and identify items that are in high demand or likely to perform well online.
– Coordinate and complete the pickup of eCommerce inventory from other Nest store locations. Travel time between the Mundelein store and other Nest locations will be compensated, and mileage will be reimbursed when a personal vehicle is used.
–  Ensure eCommerce listings are completed and submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
– Work closely with Nest store management to maintain accurate inventory records and
ensure accountability and appropriate selection of merchandise for eCommerce listing.
– Maintain a safety-first environment and follow all safety procedures to help prevent
injuries and accidents.
– Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional conduct at all times as a representative of Home of the Sparrow.
– Attend meetings as assigned.
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Retail or eCommerce Coordinator.
Education & Basic Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent required.
– Basic computer skills, including the ability to access, enter, and process electronic information.
– Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to maintain spreadsheets.
– Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete required documentation and records.
– Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with management, store associates, and customers.
– Ability to create and use forms, spreadsheets, and other documents to improve efficiency and organization.
Preferred Experience:
– Previous eCommerce or retail experience, particularly with platforms such as eBay or Amazon.
– Experience with product photography and basic photo editing.
Supervisory Responsibility:
May provide direction to other staff members as needed to ensure eCommerce items are
properly packaged and shipped in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
– Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach as needed to perform job duties.
– Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
– Ability to access all areas of the stores and shelters, including sales floors, stock areas, and register areas.
Additional Qualifications:
– Ability to work varied hours and days based on business needs.
– Valid Illinois driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, including no moving violations within the past 24 months and no history of DUI or reckless driving.
