Check out the McHenry County Continuum of Care (CoC) website! Their mission is to work together to End Homelessness in McHenry County by bringing together the McHenry County community, creating a community-wide response, and strategically allocating and using resources.
Continuum of Care (CoC) is a community planning group formed under the regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to organize and deliver housing and services for people who are homeless. A community must develop a Continuum of Care in order to receive homeless funding from HUD for the purpose of addressing local homeless needs.
There are more than 400 CoCs in the U.S. Most CoCs were formed in the 1990s, along with the McHenry County CoC, when HUD introduced incentives and program changes designed to encourage a community-wide response to homelessness.
Home of the Sparrow is proud to be a part of the McHenry CoC’s mission to end homelessness!
